Febers Heads to Bellshill

As the summer transfer window closed, a small transfer seemed to go under the radar, as Dom Febers, secured himself a 3 month loan deal with Central League Second Division side, Bellshill Athletic.

Dom, who has been at St Roch’s since the summer of 2014, signing from East Kilbride Thistle, has been besieged by injuries during his time in green, but still hoped to return to the first team. So the loan suited all parties.

1920 Television spoke to the midfielder after his debut and he had this to say.

“I had a chat with the gaffer, as I felt I hadn’t played as much as I’d liked during the League Cup section. I really felt as if I needed a good run of games due to the amount of football I missed last year through injury. We discussed the option of a loan and that’s when Bellshill Athletic came to the table.I know a few of the boys down there so it seemed a good option for me. I spoke to Robert Sneddon, the Bellshill manager and decided to give it a go.

On playing in the 2-0 win over Lanark, Dom added “It felt good getting a solid 80 minutes under my belt. The boys played really well!, and of course getting 3 points on my debut was a bonus as well!

And finally , discussing his hopes for the loan, Febers said “It has been really stop/start for me over the last year since the game at Cambuslang Rangers {when Dom received a huge gash on his leg} which has been really frustrating! I really just want to get a run of games and get back enjoying my football again. I’m hoping I can get back playing to the level I know I can and make a good contribution for Bellshill Athletic, over the coming months”

Good luck to Dom at Bellshill and we hope to see him back at James McGrory Park soon.
