Manager Andy Cameron finally confirmed his new club captain for the 2017-2018 season and onwards, as last years vice captain, Johnny Carter.
It was a source of great debate who would take the departed James McKnight’s vacated role, with several senior players making their pitch to the management team. However, former Kirkintilloch Rob Roy captain, Carter was seemingly the unanimous choice.

“I was delighted when the gaffer asked me. An of course there was only one answer…yes of course.”
“It’s a honour to be club captain and something I will relish in, especially taking over from such a good leader like James.”
“Hopefully come may I’m lifting the league trophy and I have done the role a good service”
Manager Cameron added. “Delighted for big John he is a natural leader, great person and a very good footballer. I am sure that he will be delighted now to be the captain of the Candy 12 years after being here on loan from Patrick Thistle”
“He has every attribute the we need, the only downside is that he is far too good looking for our dressing room, part of his the deal to give him the armband is that he gives the gaffer a shot of his moisturiser on a Saturday!!”
Congratulations to Johnny and good luck in his new role.
