Jordan Logan

www.strochsfc.com was on the hunt again, an tracked down top marksman Jordan Logan for a wee chat, now that the season is over.

“With regards the turn around in the club, It’s been massive Scott. When I first signed with the club, we were the whipping boys of the Central 2nd Division. I think we won 3 or 4 out of 22 games that season and only Newmains saved us from finishing bottom of the pile. To be honest, I was surprised that Andy (Cameron) kept me and Sherman (Martin Shiels) on. Fast forward 4 seasons, you would have laughed at me if I said we managed 2 promotions, were in the Super League and had 800 fans at one game. I remember that first season we played at home to Vale of Clyde and had 4 people turn up to a home game. So it just shows you how much the club has grown over the years and I think that I all down to Andy and you guys working behind the scenes.”

“I think the 100 has to be in my sights. I think there is only 2 people to score over 100 goals for the club so for me to reach that milestone would be a great achievement. Another target has to be the all-time goal scorer for the club which I am still a bit away from (25 to go). For that to happen I really need to have a great season.”

Andy has done a great job attracting the fans back through the gates and the fans support has been invaluable to the team. Especially the following we have for away games. For Central teams to take buses to away games is unheard of and this season we have won a lot of games on the road and it is all down to the fans. We have outnumbered every team in the league when we have traveled so that gives the players great belief and encouragement when battling for 3 points week-in week-out.”

“My highlights have got to be the 2 promotions. When I first signed, I never would have dreamed of playing in the Super league, so yeah the promotions are definitely up there. Another personal highlight would have to be being top goal scorer 4 seasons in a row. Jim Friel mentioned I had broken a 97 year record in the process so that will be an achievement I will never forget.”

“The plan is to win it (the new Championship). With the restructure, the top 4 teams in the league have been promoted so we are battling against mid-table teams. When you look at our record again higher opposition we have done very well so there isn’t any reason we cant challenge.

“Now…i’m just going to relax and hopefully enjoy the good weather”

Thanks Jordan, good luck in making those targets.
